Animal Chiropractic Care

We are ready to help your furry family members!

Our pets are part of the family. When they’re not moving well or don’t seem like themselves, we notice. We want them to feel their best, be happy, comfortable, and able to move freely. Just like people, animals rely on a healthy spine and nervous system for proper movement and overall well-being. When joints in the spine or limbs are not moving properly, it can place stress on the body, affect mobility, and sometimes lead to discomfort or changes in behaviour.

Chiropractic care can help restore proper function and movement so your pet can run, play, go for walks, and continue enjoying life by your side, as your best friend!

Dr. Ginette is a Certified Animal Chiropractor who completed specialized training through the Veterinary Chiropractic Learning Centre in Ontario. As both a chiropractor and an animal lover, she truly enjoys working with four-legged patients and provides chiropractic care for dogs and cats using gentle, precise techniques designed specifically for animals.

How do I know if my animal needs care?

Animals cannot tell us when they have small aches and pains. They carry on by changing their gait, their behaviour and their movements to compensate for their discomfort. These changes may go unnoticed until obvious signs such as stiffness, limping, avoiding activities, or yelping occur. During an assessment, Dr. Ginette is trained to detect these small changes, then subsequently provide treatment and preventing further injury.

Things to look out for:

  • Pain or sensitivity to touch

  • Changes in behavior

  • “Not moving right”

  • Difficulty getting up or down

  • Asymmetric postures

  • Abnormal gait

  • Poor or decreased performance

  • Changes in their ability to manage stairs, jump on furniture or into the car

What can I expect on my animal’s first visit?

When you arrive for your first appointment, Dr. Ginette will begin by talking with you about your pet’s health and any concerns you may have.

Next, she will perform a thorough examination of your pet’s spine, movement, and nervous system. If your veterinarian has completed any tests or if you have medical records related to your pet’s condition, please let us know in advance so we can request those records before your visit.

After the exam, Dr. Ginette will explain what she found, how she may be able to help your pet, and what you can expect from care. She may also provide home care recommendations and discuss the recommended care plan, as every pet’s needs are unique.

Your first visit, including the initial adjustment if appropriate, will take approximately 30 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Yes! Animal chiropractic adjustments are gentle, non-invasive, and tailored to your pet’s size, age, and condition. Most pets are very relaxed during their visit and many seem to enjoy the experience.

If your pet has pain, tight muscles, or inflammation, there may be brief sensitivity, but this is temporary and not harmful. Chiropractic care works with your pet’s body to support natural healing, improve comfort, and maintain overall mobility.

  • Many pets show positive changes after their adjustment. You may notice easier movement, more comfort, or a brighter mood. Some animals may take a nap afterward. This can happen because the adjustment reduces stress on the nervous system, allowing the body to relax, rest, and begin healing.

On the other hand, some pets leave feeling more energetic and peppier. Every animal responds a little differently as their body adapts to the changes.

  • Every animal is different. Some pets improve quickly, while others benefit from a few visits closer together at the beginning. For example, some pets may come once a week for a short time, while others may only need a visit every few months. It depends on what we are addressing and how your pet responds to care.

If your pet is experiencing a new issue, Dr. Ginette may recommend about 4–5 visits to evaluate their response. If the expected progress isn’t happening, she will adjust the care plan or refer you back to your veterinarian or another provider to ensure your pet receives the best possible care.

She may also recommend simple home care, such as rest, limiting strenuous activity, or occasionally using ice, to support healing and help your pet function at its best.

  • Absolutely! Chiropractic care benefits pets of all ages, including seniors and those with long-term conditions. Gentle adjustments can help pets walk more easily, climb stairs, jump comfortably, and move with less stiffness. It can also provide natural relief from aches and pains, supporting mobility and improving overall quality of life.

  • We understand that cost and time are important considerations when starting care. Your initial animal chiropractic visit is $95, which includes the consultation, assessment, and first treatment. Follow-up sessions are $65.

Because Dr. Ginette is a licensed chiropractor, some pet insurance plans may provide coverage. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend confirming the details with your provider. You will receive a detailed receipt after your visit that can be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
